In a development that underscores his coaching expertise, the name of former Morocco national coach, Willy Ribas, has surfaced as one of many candidates to take over the helm of the Iraqi national football team leading up to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. This is an exciting turn for Iraq, readying itself for Group B participation alongside teams such as Australia, Singapore, and Tajikistan in Asia's premier tournament.
Willy Ribas' Coaching Record
Previous coaching stints of Willy Ribas have been nothing short of impressive. He led Morocco National Team to victory at the 2025 edition of the African Nations Cup and was instrumental for teams like Raja Casablanca, Wydad Casablanca, Al Duhail, and Raja Casablanca. His efforts culminated in significant successes such as winning the CAF Champions League with Wydad Casablanca in 2022 along with the Moroccan league title. Prior to this, Willy Ribas was at Al Duhail where they won the Qatar League in 2020 and the Moroccan league with Raja Casablanca in 2016.
